Farewell to the firebrand!

We had been planning to host a party at our place for ages, but thanks to our schedules we never came close to realising it.
This Saturday we had the perfect excuse to call for a get together. Ms K was leaving Houston for Bangalore.

We invited a score of people home for dinner and most of them turned up. Unfortunately we could not invite everyone we wanted to and there were certainly some very interesting people we had to leave out, i am sure that Ms K would more than agree to that statement.

Well i need to introduce the guest list before i procede further.
1. Ms Lav - The meek
2. Ms Ash - The commoner
3. Mrs Du - The lady
4. Mr Arj - The foodie
5. Mr Div - The boy
6. Mr & Mrs Kuk - The couple
7. Mr & Mrs Iyer - Two states
8. Mr & Mrs RadeDarsh - The new age Radha Krishnan
9. Mr & Mrs Vin - The Naughty
10.Mr & Mrs Nal - The ideal
11.Ms S - The energetic
and
Mr A- The charming

After contemplating on the logistics and food arrangements we decided that we would get some food from outside and the rest of it, we would prepare it at home.
My culinary skills are not very strong so i decided to take on the cutting/cleaning part and served my time as a dedicated assistant chef.

The appetizers we prepared were pani puri( courtesy Rade) and guacamole(again courtesy Rade).
Coke flowed abundantly. It is a different matter that i know that at least a handfull of them would have preferred it if the liquid was fermented and distilled in a different way.

We had help from almost everyone with the food. Jass volunteered for the puris, Dee volunteered for making the idlis and all the others including me were jubiliant to be treated with food.

Well i was worried when Dee called me and told that the batter did not turn well and both insisted that we not make the puris and idlis till everyone arrived.
That seemed to be the best decision as all of us devoured the hot puris and hot idlis.
Lav and Ash took care of the puris, sweating out hours near the flame. No one seemed to complain about the different countries that they had got in the shape and size of puris.
I do want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to both of you for saving the day.

Our tiny kitchen was buzzing with activity and at any point there was five people in there and food was flowing.I am sure that there are very few things in life that can surpass good food.

Most of the people knew each other but then there were a few fresh faces. Well i need'nt have worried because there was a certain some one in the group who took care that the entire evening was a memorable one.

Now to talk about certain some one who was called A, A is one of the best ice breakers i know of.
He introduced games that were totally fun and it was good to see him getting frustrated with our lot. He was all over the place, to say the least. And i am sure that he loved all the attention
showered.

Arj and Div were content in their own way. Food lights up a lot of us i gather.

We had hearty laughs over Ms Ash's intelligent questions during the Mafia game. Darsh's strategy and planning were super cool and Ms Ash's voice for the common man was applauded, the loudest by me.
We got to see a different side of Ms Du, man she almost got me with her innocent expressions during the game. It reminded about me about the natak women do, no offence meant to you dah'lin.
I know you are sweet(how can i say other wise, i derive a lot of shrimps/biriyani from you)
Ms K as usual at her garrulous best seemed to get eliminated in the first round itself, well cantblame me if i can tell when you bluff.

Mr Iyer had to leave early on account his work but Mrs Iyer stayed back. Mr and Mrs Kuk dropped in to wish Ms K luck.

The final game of the day was a spoon game organised by Amit, he ensured that sleep was that the last thing on any one's mind at 1.00 AM. There were scratches, bruises and slaps, and finally Nil emerged victorious, though Ms S seemed a very strong contender.

When all the guests were leaving A asked if some one was in for a coffee. There were a bunch of us who were in for coffee.
To cut the long story short we went for coffee at Starbucks and reached back at 4 in the morning.

Thanks to everyone for being there and let us all wish the firebrand all the very best!
